Akira Fujinami
(also known as Kan Fujinami, born. Novemb er 29, 1870, died. November 18, 1934) - a Japanese physician. Bor n in Aichi Prefecture in 1870. He graduated from the Faculty of M edicine, Imperial University of Tokyo in 1895, then spent four ye ars in Germany, where he specialized in pathology. In 1899 he was awarded the chair of pathology at the Imperial University of Tokyo and remained in that position until 1930. In 1918 he was awarded the Imperial Academy for the study of schistosomiasis.
